James Marion Crouch, 69, of 501 W. Newton Ave., Eldon, a former resident of the Olean community, died Tuesday, April 2, at Charles E. Still Hospital, Jefferson City. He had been a patient there since January 27.


Mr. Crouch was a retired farmer and sawmill operator. He was born Feb. 14, 1899 in Maries County, the son of Henry and Susanne Crouch.


On June 16, 1943, he was married at Eugene to Opal Williams who survives.


Also surviving are four sons, Harold James of Columbia, John Henry and Larry P. of Eldon and Marion Kenneth of the United States Army; six daughters, Mrs. Roberta Thorson, Olean and Ms. Patricia Duncan, Mrs. Patsy Buchanan, Rebecca Louise Crouch, Dianna Lynn Crouch and Darlene Marie Crouch, all of Eldon; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ollie Kellogg, Walla Walla, Wash.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Ernest Jeff officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
