Merrill Eveson Adams
Our loving husband, father, bother, and friend, died October 30, 1996 at his home in Camas, Washington after suffering with ALS. Merrill was born May 29, 1926 to Annie and Lem Adams. he was their eldest son and was raised in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, where he met and married Margaret Ann Moors of Magrath, Alberta.
Merrill moved his family to Washougal, Washington in 1960. He worked in the Pendleton Woolen Mill and then worked for thiry years in the Washougal School District as Transportation Superintendent, until his retirement in 1989. For the next seven years, Merrill and Margaret retired to Goldendale (a place that reminded him of his childhood where he was surrounded by the wheatfields and the 'Big Sky's of Canada'). He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. he loved athletics,and played competitive basketball into his fifties. he dedicated his life to his family and he will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his lifelong friend and loving wife Margaret; sons, Dr. Jack Adams of Montessano and Larry Adams of Vancouver; daughters, Carol Taylor of Provo, Utah, Debbie Leifsen of Washougal, and Barbara Jones of Salt Lake City, Utah; three sisters and four brothers; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 2, 1996 in the Washougal LDS Chapel, 3920 Q Street. Interment will follow in the Washougal Memorial Cemetery. Brown's Funeral Home in Camas is in charge of arrangements.
