Major League Baseball Player. He played Major League baseball for twelve seasons (1920 to 1931) as an outfielder for the Chicago White Sox and Cleveland Indians. He made his debut on July 17, 1920 as a member of the 1920 White Sox, a team rebuilt after a World Series gambling scandal enveloped the 1919 team, and his remembered as being the player who replaced Shoeless Joe Jackson in the White Sox's outfield after Jackson was banned from baseball. He had a career .314 batting average in 1,354 games with the White Sox and Indians.
