Services for Dorothy L. Martin, 72, of Rock Island, are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.
Mrs. Martin died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley.
Dorothy Northup was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Jacksonville, Ill., the daughter of William and Virginia DeOrnellas Northup. She married Joe R. Martin Oct. 17, 1948, in Versailles, Ill.
She had worked as the cafeteria supervisor at Eagle Warehouse, Milan.
Survivors include her husband, Joe; daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie Jo and Tom Mackiewicz, Renton, Wash., Judy and Boyd Lipe, Independence, Mo., Vicki and Bruce Trunnell, East Moline; a son, Jerry Martin, Rock Island; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Northup, Mount Sterling, Ill. Her parents preceded her in death.
