Rebecca Arabell Milstead was born 1859 in Paris, Henry County, Tennessee to John J. Milstead and wife, Mary Ann Sweatt, who married in 1844 in Henry County, Tennessee.

She married James J. Baker in 1878 in Camden County, Missouri, and had five children -- Parazetta, who died when still a toddler, Mary, Joseph, Cora, and George Milstead.

Arabell, fondly called "Granny Belle" in her elder years, lived out most of her life in Camden County, Missouri, but died in neighboring Richland, Pulaski County, Missouri. She and her husband were buried in Montreal, Missouri in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery.
