PFC Wilson Campbell, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Laurinburg, NC.

Corporal Wilson Campbell was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, CPL Campbell served our country until September 10th, 1970 in Kontum, South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. It was reported that Wilson died from an undetermined explosion. His body was recovered. CPL Campbell is on panel 07W, line 052 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.

We were in the same platoon. I remember Wilson carried a full rucksack, loved to talk, and was a good trooper. It was very sad to lose him at such an early age. Wayne Johnson.

He is the Son of Mr and Mrs Willie Campbell, 107 McLaurin Avenue, Lauringburg, NC 28352

He served with Delta Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, "The Rock", 173rd Airborne Brigade, USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal and The National Defense Service Medal.
