SP4 Roland Clemon Crosby, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Shelby, NC.

Specialist Four Roland Clemon Crosby was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, SP4 Crosby served our country until May 8th, 1968 in Thua Thien, South Vietnam. He was 23 years old and was married. It was reported that Roland died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. SP4 Crosby is on panel 57E, line 001 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

He is the Son of Mr Roland Crosby and Carrie Bell Brooks Crosby, Route 2, Box 248, Shelby, North Carolina. Brother of the late Carrie Lee Crosby. Husband of Mrs Martha McClain Crosby, father of Andrea Suzette Crosby, address same as above.

He served with Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division(AMBL), USARV.

He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Army Air Medal with Multiple Oak Leaf Clusters, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
