Philip was born the son of Frank and Rose (Pettinato) Anastasio. Philip passed on at the Gorham House.

Philip graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1933, and during World War II served five years on the Maine State Guard.

He was a communicant of St. Athanasius - St. John Church and was active on the parish council and helped with church suppers, Beano and summer block parties; member of the Fr. Ambrose J. Barry Council, K.of C.; Rumford Maine Lodge 862, BPOE; former member of the F.O.E. and the Oakdale Country Club.

He was married in Rumford, on Sept. 4, 1939, to the late Evelyn Brennick, who died in Gorham on March 15, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Mariann Goff and husband, Stanley, of Waterboro; a son, Philip Anastasio of Windsor, Conn.; five grandchildren, Lori Moody of Waterboro, James Anastasio of Windsor, Conn., Christine Anastasio of East Hartland, Conn., Jennifer Budaj of Glastonbury, Conn. and Paula Raia of Lyman; six great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Gaccetta of Rumford; sisters-in-law, Diana Anastasio of Mexico and Rita and Elaine Anastasio of Rumford.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Pinkham; a sister, Marian Colantoni; and brothers, Frank, Andrew, John and Joseph Anastasio.
