Ida Brandel, 86, of Argyle died Saturday in Argyle. She was born on Oct 7, 1909 in Osage Co., a daughter of John and Catherine Meskie Schneider. She was married Sep 9, 1931 in Argyle to Mike Brandel who died Aug 15, 1991. She was employed as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone until her retirement in 1959. She then worked as a cook in the Argyle public school for four years. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, the church choir, the Ladies Sodality, Vterans of Foreign Wars Auxiallry and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, all in Argyle.
Survivors include: six sons, Donald Brandel of Shawnee, KS, Bill Brandel of Hartsburg, Stanley Brandel of Bates City, Ed Brandel of Jefferson City, Charles Brandel of Palmdale, CA and Jerry Brandel of Metairie, LA; two daughters, Martha Dudenhoeffer of Freeburg and Mary Brandel of Peculiar; one brother, Arthur Schneider of St. Charles; and one sister, Marie Wallor of Arcadia, CA. Services will be Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Msgr. Ralph G. Kutz officiating. Burial will be in parish cemetery.
