US Marine Private First Class Bennie Alston was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Marine Corps, PFC Alston served our country until December 19th, 1967 in Quang Nam, South Vietnam. He was 24 years old and was not married. Bennie died from an undetermined explosion. His body was recovered. Bennie was born on September 12th, 1943 in Rocky Mount, Edgecombe County, North Carolina. PFC Alston is on panel 32E, line 019 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.
Uncle Bennie, So much has happened since you left us. First to leave us was Aunt Geradine, then your Dad, your Mom and lastly my dad(2003). God has been good through it all. He was awarded The Combat Action Ribbon(CAR), The Bronze Star Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal and The Good Conduct Medal.
