Kristl Dawn Folden 7, along with her sisters Nikolet Amber Nieves-Folden 12, Rashel Hollie Nieves-Folden 11, and Jaqlene Marie Folden 5 were murdered on July 1st 1998 by their Mother Sandi Nieves. Sandi Nieves is described as having epilepsy and was perscribed antidepressants prior to the murder of her four daughters.
On July 1st 1998 Sandi Nieves told her four daughters they were going to have a slumber party and made them sleep in the kitchen area. She then proceeded to turn on the gas burners and tried to set fire to the home. Her eldest son David Nieves escaped without injury but the four little girls died of smoke inhalation, at the scene.
Sandi Nieves told police she killed her children to get even with the men in her life, On October 6, 2000, Sandi Nieves was formally sentenced to death for the arson murder of her four daughters. She is now serving her death row sentence at the Central California Women's Facility in Chowchilla.
