Lola Bullington was born on Jan. 2, 1913, at Miller to Smith and Ruby (Ware) Bullington. She moved with her family to Lake Preston in 1915 and attended school there. She married Alvin Anderson on May 2, 1932. They lived and farmed west of Lake Preston, near Junius and Oldham, and in the Whitewood area for more than 25 years before moving into Lake Preston. her husband died on Feb. 19, 1992. She worked at the Oldham Cafe, Bunker Cafe, Goodhope's Cafe, Streeter Grocery and Chuck's Grocery, and for the city of Lake Preston. She also did cleaning and day care. She was active in the community as a Cub Scout leader, Methodist youth fellowship leader, Sunday School teacher, member of United Methodist Church, Methodist Ladies Aid and American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a son, DeWayne (Barb) of Brookings; thee daughters, Marlene Lilleskov of Madison, Barbara (Jerry) Weiland of Auburn, Wash., and Diselle Brandrite of Tempe, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vern Bullington of Duante, Calif., and Dale Bullington of Victorville, Calif.; and a sister, Lavonne Broadway of LaCrescenta, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; a daughter, Alene; five brothers; and two sisters.
The Johnson-Henry Funeral Chapel of Lake Preston is in charge of arrangements.
