Ernest E. Abernathy, age 81, of Marcella, died Sunday night in North Ark. Clinic in Batesville. He was born at Marcella and was a member of the Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge No. 202 and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Inez Landreth Abernathy of the home; two brothers, Frank Howard Abernathy of Marcella and Ross Darnell Abernathy of Rockport, Texas.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. at Crouch Chapel. Burial was in the Ivy Cemetery by Crouch Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Eddie Walker, Bob Davis, T. J. McClung, Larry Miller, Truman Davis, and Pete Bangs.
Honorary pallbearers were Roy Sansom, Ivan Williamson, Ford Vickers, David Baxter, Jack Wilkes, Hubert Bangs, Fax Warren and Ray Richardson.
