Ernest Ray "Lefty" O'Donald
Ernest Ray "Lefty" O'Donald, 93, of Stephenville, a farmer and rancher of Fisher County, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at a local nursing home.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, in the Cate-Spencer and Trent Funeral Home chapel in Sweetwater with the Rev. Lance Cypert officiating.
Burial was in the Sweetwater Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home of Stephenville.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1913, to James Monroe and Myrtle Francis (Bankhead) O'Donald in Tarrant County. He married Ellen Joyce Robbins on Dec. 27, 1941, in Roby, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1955. He married Lilly Estelle Blaylock on July 23, 1965, in Weatherford, and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2000. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and David Thornton of Houston, Juanita and Doug McKinney of Crowley, and Loreta and Nathan Wells of Killeen; two step-children, Dorene Blaylock of DeKalb and Jerry Blaylock of Allen; seven grandchildren, Shan Mistrol Giesler, Joyce McDonald Blackson, Rita McKinney Wester, Melissa McKinnery Gaspari, Kimberly McKinney, Jared Wells and Jason Wells; and six great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jay, Patrick Giesler, Madison Grace Blackson, Camdon Alexander Blackson, Wesley Dean Wester and Katlyn Nicole Wester.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon O'Donald McDonald; two brothers, Delbert Lee O'Donald in 1996 and Ercle O'Donald in 1991; and two sisters, Zora Paulene Gann in 1995 and Myrle Orene Nettleton Minton in 1992.
