Mr. J. M. Crawford is Dead
Mr. J. M. Crawford died Sunday at 6 p. m. at his home, four miles west of the city on the Taylorsville Road. The funeral service and interment were at Fourth Creek Chapel, conducted by Rev. S. L. Cathey this afternoon at 3 o'clock Mr. Crawford was 87 years old. he is survived by a widow.
Mr. Crawford was a Confederate veteran, a member of Company E 149th North Carolina Infantry. He was seriously wounded during the war having been left as dead upon the battlefield. He was the last of 13 children.
