Born in Hyndman, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Edward E. and Sarah (Custer) Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Boland, and a daughter, Deanna K. Boland.
Surviving are two daughters ,four sisters, two granddaughters, a brother-in-law, Eugene Boland of Williamston, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Paula Brofius of Tonawanda, N.Y.; aunts, Alma Custer of Hyndman, and Hazel Farr of San Antonio, Texas; four nieces and five nephews, and many cousins.
Mrs. Boland was a homemaker and an avid hiker. She, along with her late husband, were former owners of the Bantam Chef in Liberty. She was a member of the Greenville Hiking Club and the Botnay Park Ladies Club and was of the Protestant faith.
Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Korns officiating.
Burial will follow at Comps Cemetery, Southampton Township, Somerset County.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615.
