He was born April 2, 1931, in Teays Valley, W.Va., to the late Delbert Erskine of West Virginia and Vera Bailey of West Virginia.
He was a retired truck driver.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Margie, of 51 years; three sons, Darrell and his wife, Lucy, of Clements, Robert of Leonardtown and John of Ohio; his daughter, Diane of Kentucky; one adopted daughter, Debbie Pool of Hollywood; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Erskine of West Virginia; five sisters, Jean Smith of North Carolina, June Beaver of Ohio, Peggy Peterson of Ohio, Carole Rucci of Maryland and Karen Eadens of Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews and lots of friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tony; and one brother, Thomas.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 2632, Moose Lodge 495 of Mechanicsville and American Legion 0164 of Lexington Park.
