Charles O. Frazier, 82, of Keokuk, died at his home.

Born in Keokuk, he was the son of Charles O. and Minnie Bear Frazier. On June 1, 1968, he married Lynn Rankin in Keokuk.

Mr. Frazier practiced law in Keokuk for 42 years and retired in 1998.

He was a 1942 graduate of Keokuk High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa in 1949 and his law degree in 1954.

In 1956 he was admitted to practice in the District Court of Southern Iowa and received his certificate of admission to practice in the Supreme Court of Iowa. In 1957 he completed a post graduate course in trial technique from the lawyers post graduate clinics in Chicago. He was an Air Force veteran and served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a gunner on B–29s during World War II. He was discharged from active duty in 1953 and continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves until his retirement from the military with the rank of major in 1970. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity, the American Bar Association, the Iowa Bar Association, where he had served on its board of governors in 1990, and the Missouri Bar Association. He also was a member of American Legion Post 41 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3508 in Keokuk. He served on the Keokuk City Council for two terms from 1963 to 1965, served as Iowa State Representative for one term and also served in the CIA. He enjoyed woodworking, making stained glass projects, rock collecting and collecting classic Corvair cars.

Survivors include wife; one son, Daniel R. Frazier of Keokuk.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family burial with military rites was held.
