Elwood H. Kichline, 85, of Lower Saucon Township, died Sunday, July 23, 2006 in the VNA Hospice House at St. Lukes, Lower Saucon Township, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Virginia E. (Clement). Born in Bethlehem on January 4, 1921, he was the son of the late Howard and Amanda (Clewell) Kichline.

Elwood worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 32 years as a mechanical inspector in the No. 2 machine shop until retiring. He served this country honorably during World War II in the Marine Corps. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Center Valley and charter member of the Lehigh Valley Astronomical Society.

Survivors: In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by three sons, Gary D. and his wife, Joanne M., of Nazareth, Bruce N. Whitey and his wife, Joan S., of Hellertown and Joel K. and his wife, Peggy, of Bethlehem; five grandchildren, Anjanette, Marisa Hockman, Amanda Elder, Deanna Nolf, and Shanna; three great- grandchildren, Gregory and Alexandra Nolf, Ava Elder.

Services: memorial, 10 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2006 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. There will be no calling hours. Interment to follow services in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, with military honors.
