Services for Francis F. Scott, 88, Clearview City, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner. Lodge services will be conducted by the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 78 of DeSoto. Burial will follow in DeSoto Cemetery.

Mr. Scott died Wednesday, July 21, 1993, at Eudora Nursing Home. He was born May 7, 1905, in Westphalia, the son of Fred and Grace Scott.

Mr. Scott was a special investigator for the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles. He retired in 1970. He also worked as a Johnson County patrolman for many years.

He was a member of DeSoto Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 78 in DeSoto, and was past worthy patron of the Clearview City Lions Club.

He served in the Army Cavalry in World War I.

He married Florence L. Stewart on March 19, 1924, in Garnett. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Patricia L. Shafer, St. George, Utah, and F. Colleen Luther, Tigard, Ore.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Charles F. Scott preceded him in death.
