Obituary from the New Milford Times:

"Dr. Julie Eliese Neufeld, 31, of 18 New Preston Hill Road, New Milford, died at Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City after a long illness.
Dr. Neufeld was born in New York, daughter of Woldemar and Margaret (Conrad) Neufeld. She moved to New Milford in 1949 and was a 1966 Honors Graduate of New Milford High School. She received her bachelor of arts degree in 1970 and a master's degree in antropology in 1972.

While working for her master's degree, she inaugurated a study program whereby Univ.of CT students worked with the Navaho Indian children at Rough Rock Demonstration School in Arizona. Later, she lived with the family of the chief of the Pueblo Indians and worked with them. They initiated her into their council, giving her the name of "Little Bluebird" and she had the privilege to be included in their council meetings.

Dr. Neufeld received her PhD in clinical paychology at the CA School of Professional Psychology, San Diego in 1975.
Besides her parents she leaves three brothers, Conrad, Marc and Laurence Neufeld. Contributions to her memory may be made tothe Leukemia Society of America, Inc or to the American Cancer Society."
