Clayton, N.M. - James L. Anstine, 73, died Saturday, July 19, 1997.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Clayton Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Mr. Anstine was born in Cherokee, Okla. He had lived in the Wheeless, Okla., area from 1937 until he entered the Army in 1946. After his discharge in 1947, he returned to live in the Wheeless area until 1949, when he came to live in Clayton and worked on a ranch.

He then moved to Albuquerque in 1952, where he worked for Duke City Molding Company for 37 years. He retired in 1988 and returned to Clayton in 1990.

He married Iris Rainwater in 1953 at Albuquerque.

Survivors include his wife; and two sisters, Aldean Adcox of Ukiah, Calif., and Joan Hella of Albuquerque.
