Brazzell was active in many Dickson County organizations, including the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Dickson, of which he was charter member and its first secretary.
He served as the Dickson County Court Clerk from 1973 until 1990, when he retired from that office. He also served on the Dickson County Election Commission.
He was the office manager for the former Rutledge Chevrolet Company for 21 years.
Brazzell graduated from Dickson High School in 1937. One of his graduating classmates was Frank G. Clement, the longtime governor of Tennessee.
Brazzell was born in Dickson County on the Lynch Farm at the head of Garner's Creek to the late Herbert Henson and Zettie Maggie McElhiney Brazzell. He still owns the farm where he was born. Cubby attended his first four years of school at Oakmont and Jason Chapel, and later went back and graduated from Oakmont on Walnut Street.
He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Dickson. At church, he was a member of the Pioneer Bible Class, where he served as president.
He served on the board of the former First National Bank.
He was married to the former Lorene Donegan Brazzell who preceded him in death in 2002.
Survivors include his daughters Beverly Martin and her husband, Warner, of Dickson, and Marla Kaye Weiglein and her husband, Bill, of Franklin; his two grandchildren; Zachary Martin and Will Weiglein; and his two great-grandchildren, Emma Kate Martin and Matthew Martin.
The funeral services was conducted Sunday, Jan. 16 from the First United Methodist Church in Dickson with the Rev. Allen Weller officiating. Place of rest is in the Oakhill Addition of the Dickson Union Cemetery.
