PLEASANT GROVE, Utah County--
Joseph Smith Adams 82, long-time Utah and Idaho farmer, died of a heart ailment Saturday afternoon in an American Fork hospital.

Mr Adams, son of Joshua and Lydia Thornton Adams, was born in American Fork June 12 1870. He married Jane Rushton June 12, 1889, in Provo.

Survivors include his widow, Pleasant Grove; five sons: Glen Adams, Pleasant Grove; Vernon Adams, Springville, Utah County; Lester Adams, Boise, Ida.; Cleve Adams, Declo, Ida., and Sterling Adams, Allron, Ida.; four daughters: Mrs Ray (Myrtle) Carlson, Allron, Ida.; Mrs D E (LaRae) Willett, Oren, Utah County; Mrs Kenneth (Jane) Mott, Pleasant Grove and Mrs LaVoy (Violet) Sager, Oceanside, Cal.; 31 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs Melissa Anderson, Declo, Ida., and several half-brothers and half-sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Anderson and Sons Mortuary Chapel at American Fork by Welby Cammon, bishop of Pleasant Groves First Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
