Cecile born in Fowlerville, taught school for a time, but at 29 decided to be a nurse, Trained at W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MI graduated Aug 1917. In April 1918, she joined the U.S. Army Nurses Corp. In September, she was shipped overseas to Base I Hospital St. Lasair, France where she served until 1919. She then took the position for 31 years for Public Health Nurse for the City of Flint. Retired at 65.She married for the first time at 69 years old. Her husband, Elmer Stafford was a retired Heating & Plumbing man. They moved to Wiggins Lake near Gladwin, Michigan where they lived until his death. Cecille moved in with her niece Paddy Lou (Havens) Keener in St. Johns, Michigan and then entered the convalescent in Ovid Michigan.
