Shirley May Durand, 63, of Arnold, died Friday, April 21, 2006, in the home of her daughter in New Kensington. She was born in New Kensington, April 12, 1943, to the late Charles T. and Ivy R. Robinson Whitehead, and had lived in New Kensington most of her life. She was of the Protestant faith, and enjoyed crocheting, bingo, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Glenn E. Durand; four sons, Glenn A. and John Durand, both of Arnold, Tracy (Tiffany) Durand, of Leechburg, and Charles (Cochelle Wilson) Durand, of New Kensington; two daughters, Diana Durand, of New Kensington, and Nancy Durand Black, of Natrona Heights; 26 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy (Joseph) Altman, of Glenshaw; and two brothers, Robert Whitehead, of Alabama, and Charles (Jan) Becker, of Markle. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Durand; a brother, Roy Whitehead; and two sisters, Joanne Waller and Dianne Whitehead. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the RUSIEWICZ OF ARNOLD FUNERAL HOME, 1400 Fifth Ave., where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Harold Mele. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
