Casualty of the Korean War, Captain Lane, Service No. 249028, aged 27, was killed in action whilst serving with the Royal Regiment of Artillery.

His brother, Lieutenant Michael Lane, aged 21, was a
casualty of WWII He died, 1st July 1944 whilst serving with the Rifle Brigade 8th (2nd Bn. The London Rifle Brigade) Bn. Service No. 232597.

They were sons of Lindsay and Mary Lane [nee Cornforth] of Moulton.
John is remembered on the grave of his parents at St. Peter's Church Moulton, Suffolk and on the war memorial in the church and also on the churchyard war memorial.

There are entries relating to him in the Army Historical Branch's Roll of Honour and on Page 15 in the UK Book of Remembrance held at the National Army Museum.
