Mr Bert Van Rosendale, a farmer who resided in Oak creek, about ten miles north of Cawker City, was thrown from a load of hay last Thursday and his head was crushed so that he died shortly afterward. He had put up the hay in the southern part of Osborne county and was hauling it home when the accident happened. John L Beck and wife were near at hand and went to his assistance and Dr Gleason was summoned but life was extinct when he arrived.

Mr Rosendale was a member of the AOUW society in this city, the members of which attended the funeral on Monday from his late residence and conducted the services by their ritual, the interment being made in the Dutch Reformed church cemetery in Smith county. Mr R. was about fifty years old and leaves a wife and three children. They will receive the benefit of the $2,000 insurance in the above worthy organization.
