Donna Madge (Selby) Hyde is the daughter of Gussie Parrell Selby and Cecil Pearl (Brookhart) Selby. She married Charles William Hyde, son of Hollis Delbert Hyde and Nellie Bernice (Smith) Hyde on February 16, 1944 at the Methodist pasonage in Gorin, Scotland County, Missouri. The couple settled near Brock where they raised two sons: Jerry Wayne and Roy Charles Hyde.

Donna Madge Hyde, 74, of Memphis, MO, passed away at the Scotland County Care Center, Memphis, MO, August 26, 1999. Donna was born August 10, 1925, in Scotland County, MO, the daughter of Gussie Parrell and Cecil Pearl Brookhart Selby. She married Charles W. Hyde on February 16, 1944, in Scotland County, MO. To this union two sons, Jerry W. Hyde and Roy C. Hyde, both of Memphis, MO, were born. She spent her entire life in Scotland County, MO, where she and her husband lived their entire lives. They farmed with Charles’ parents. During this time, they purchased the Brock Station, which they ran for many years. Donna was a member of the Granger Methodist Church, Granger, MO. She enjoyed growing geraniums and keeping up with the busy lives of all her grandchildren. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and four sisters. Donna is survived by her two sons, Jerry W. Hyde and his wife, Patricia, of Memphis, MO, and Roy C. Hyde and his wife, Donna of Memphis, MO; two brothers, Norman Selby of Indianapolis, IN, and Cletus Selby of Bushnell, IL; two sisters, Vironda Selby of Moberly, MO, and Wyoma Kraus of Pueblo, CO. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Melissa Woollums and husband, Gene of Pella, IA, Stephanie Hager and husband, Doug of Ogden, IA, and Kyle Wilson of Albia, IA, Gina Wilson and family of Blue Springs, MO, Christy Kumm and husband, Daniel of Independence, MO, Latisha Hyde of Kansas City, MO, Michael Hyde and wife, Kristin of Memphis, MO, Angela Ebeling and husband, Chad of Monmouth, IL. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren and a special friend, Roy Paul Adams, Jr., of Memphis, MO; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. The family has suggested memorials to the Brock Cemetery or the American Cancer Society. Funeral services were held August 29, 1999, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Vocalists were Mike and Velma Wilson. Pallbearers were Phil Hyde, Leland Hyde, Delbert Hyde, Fred Bertram, Jon Humphrey, and Norman Hughes. Honorary pallbearers were Don Bundy, Bob Moore, J. A. Kraus, Robert W. Shelley, Dean Simerl, and Asie Boatman. Interment was in the Brock Cemetery, Scotland County, MO. Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, was in charge of arrangements.
