Frances Grace 'Fannie' Greenup was born 31 Jan 1893 in the Motley-Gull River area of Cass Co., MN to Benjamin Franklin Greenup and Elmira M. Senff. She was a Telephone Operator in Valley city, ND before her marriage. She married William Harrison 'Harry' Beach on 24 Aug 1909 in Fargo, Cass Co., ND. Fannie was reared in the Valley City/Courtenay, ND area and worked as a Telephone Operator in Courtenay. After her marriage, she and Harry moved to Melville, ND for many years and in 1945 moved to Carrington. Fannie worked at the Ace Cafe and the Bowling Alley as a Pastry Cook. They also operated the 'Little Chief Drive In' in Carrington.
Fannie, (she hated her nickname according to family members), and Harry owned and operated a resturant in Carrington, ND, called the S & S Coffee Shop. They also ran the Log Cabin Cafe and Gas Station there as well.
Fannie died 2 Oct 1989 in Carrington at the age of 96.
She was survived by two sons: Elmer (Evelyn) Beach of Carrington and Merle (Nellie) Beach of Lynnwood, WA; 11 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Melvin and Philip Beach, and many brothers and sisters.
