He was born in 1893, in Cardiff, Wales, the son of Polish parents Abraham, a maker of portmanteaus, and Rebecca Bomberg. At the time of the 1911 Census, the younger Bomberg had followed into his father's trade and was living with his family at 20 & 25 Tenter Buildings, St. Mark Street.
Bomberg died on 12 March 1915, during the Battle of Neueve Chapelle, while serving with the 2nd Battalion, Alexandra, Princess of Wales's Own (Yorkshire Regiment) on the Western Front.
He has no known grave.
