Barbara June Griffith, 76, of Lyons, passed away at 10 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2006, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Born Sept. 6, 1929 in Marion County, she was the daughter of Herschel Parker Hill and Mary Inez Bruce Hill. She was a member of the Switz City Full Gospel Church. Survivors include: a daughter Kathy Thacker and her husband James of Lyons; a son Herschel Griffith and his wife Linda of Edinboro, Penn.; two brothers, Kenny Hill of Switz City, and Samuel Hill of Doans; a sister, Mary Wright of Switz City; a special friend David Lee of Switz City; eight grandchildren, Sheryl Yake, Kimberly Clapp, Ryan Thacker, Krista Kline, Keri Griffith, Andrew Griffith, Matthew Griffith, and Melissa Griffith; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Heather, Joshua, Kelsey, and Wyatt Yake, Travis, Dustin, and Cody Carpenter, Mackenzie and Blaine Thacker, Taylor, Kayla, Robert, Aiden Alexis, and Kelly Kline. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max Eugene Griffith, two brothers, Robert Hill and Charles Hill, three grandchildren, Herschel (Tiger) Griffith, Zabrina Griffith, and Tabatha Griffith, and one great-grandchild David Kline. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the Switz City Full Gospel Church with Pastor Sam Hill officiating. Burial will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
