Funeral services for Amerson "A.J." Treme, 86, of Leesville were held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, in the Cooper Baptist Church the Rev. Edgar Evans officiated. Burial followed in the Cooper Cemetery in Pickering under the direction of the Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Mr. Treme died Sunday, June 18, 2006, in the Woodlands Health Care Center in Leesville. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shann Treme. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Berry Treme of Leesville; two sons, Gray and Elroy Treme, both of Leesville; daughter, Mavis Treme McDaniel of Leesville; brothers, Manson Treme of Baton Rouge and Leo Treme of DeQuincy; sisters, Rose Lyons of Leesville and Lena Mae Marcantel of Sulphur; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
