Married to George Washington Ellis on April 26, 1868. Mother of fourteen children, seven of which died quite young. The remainder were: William Franklin Alfred, George M., Josephine M., Louise, Mary H., Frances Emma and Sarah Goldie Ellis.
OBITUARY:
Mrs. Sarah E. Ellis
Mrs. Sarah E. Ellis, wife of George W. Ellis, died Tuesday night at 9:30 o'clock at the family home, 316 South Fifth street, of a complication of diseases. She was born in Shelbyville, Ind., March 27, 1850, and had been a resident of Lafayette for twenty-two years. She was a member of the Free Methodist church and was a highly respected woman.
Her husband and the following children survive: George M. Ellis, Mrs. John Smith, Mrs. Harry Pritchard, Mrs. Frank Howe, and Mrs. LeRoy Conn, of Lafayette; Mrs. Alfred Peterson, of Bloomfield, Ind., and William Ellis of New Brighton, Pa. The body was taken to the home of Mrs. Harry Pritchard, 622 North Fifth street from where the funeral will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. C.A. Fleming will officiate and burial will be in Springvale cemetery.
