Navaho 'code talker' of World War II, PFC in the US Marine Corps. The 'code talkers' saved many lives by using their native language as a code, a code that the enemy could never break. In 2003 Robert received the Congressional Silver Medal for Distinguished Service. He had grown up on a reservation in Arizona and enlisted in the Marines at age seventeen. He passed away in Nashville, Tennesee just one day shy of his 82nd birthday.
