Charlie E. Adam
Charlie E. Adam, 96, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Heritage House Convalescent Center in Shelbyville. He was a resident of Shelbyville.
He was born Nov. 17, 1902, in Shelby Township. His parents were John C. and Catherine I. (Becht) Adam. He married Lucille F. (Worland) Adam on Dec. 11, 1924. She preceded him in death Jan. 3, 1973. He married Grace Lavada (Hawkins) Adam on March 3, 1975. She preceded him in death July 29, 1991. Survivors include two stepdaughters, Jane Carmony and JoAnn Davis, both of Greensburg; three cousins; a nephew; a niece; five stepgrandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, Shelby Lodge 28 F&AM, Shelby Chapter 20, Shelby Council 3, Baldwin Commandery 2 and Naamah Chapter 73 Order of Eastern Star.
The Rev. James Horner will conduct a service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home in Shelbyville, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue River Lions Club or the donor's favorite charity.
