Mr. James Elbert Butler, age 66, of Niceville, Fla., went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Dec. 13, 1999. Mr. Butler was a native of South Carolina but lived in the Fort Walton Beach, Fla., area for the past 37 years. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict, worked with Civil Service in the Armament Lab for more than 20 years and was currently employed with CMS Defense Systems in Shalimar.
Mr. Butler is survived by his mother, Myrtle Butler, of Great Falls, S.C.; his wife, Patricia Butler of Niceville; three sons, David Butler and wife Kim of Aiken, S.C., Matt Butler and wife Sherri of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Nate Butler and wife Kathy of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Shirley Williams of Buena Vista, Va.; and three granddaughters, Elizabeth and Hannah of Aiken and Kristen of Fort Walton Beach.
Funeral services for Mr. Butler will be 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, in the First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach with Dr. Howard L. Gates and Dr. Wesley Yates officiating. Interment will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home, Thursday evening, Dec. 16, 1999, from 5 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach Building Fund or to the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. James E. Butler
