Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at New Horizon Memorial Chapel with burial in Lawler Cemetery in Dora. Rev. Doug Tate will officiate. New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home is directing.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at New Horizon Memorial Chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucious G. and Beatrice James Florence, and one sister, Noleka Florence Ashworth.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Woodrow Wilson Ballenger; two sons, Thomas Henry Ballenger and his wife, Jan of Westlake Village, Calif., and Charles Wilson Ballenger and his wife, Patricia of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one daughter, Nanci Ballenger Ward and her husband, Joe of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two sisters, Jacquelyn Florence Newman of Pleasant Grove and Geraldine Florence Hall of Birmingham; six grandchildren, Jeffery Dirk Ward of London, England, Thomas Charles Ballenger of Indianapolis, Ind., Sandra Ballenger Shillington, Nancy Ballenger Evans and David Woodrow Ballenger, all of California, and John Steven Ballenger of Florida; seven great-grandchildren, Brooks, Cyle and Madison Ballenger, all of Indianapolis, Ind., Cody Thomson, Hayley Shillington, Jack Ballenger, all of California, and Natasha Ward of Dundee, Scotland.
