Daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Harbour Turman. Married Josiah Bryant 24 Dec 1809 in Miami Co OH. Children: Matilda, Benjamin Turman, Sarah Ruann, Martha Malone. By 1820 the family was living in Sullivan Co IN. They appear on the 1840 census in LaPorte Co IN. They appear on the 1850 census in Pulaski Co IN. By 1870 they were living in Wapello Co IA with daughter Martha Bryant Cherrie. After the death of Martha's father, Mary moved with daughter Martha Bryant Cherrie to California. From obit: "When only five years of age she left Virginia for Ohio with her parents. The little party passed through Cincinnati when the only building of which that place could boast of was one log cabin...(she and Josiah moved to Vincennes, Ind.,) where they resided in a fort about seven years on account of the hostility of the Indians."
