Elijah A. Case
Elijah Alexander Case died at his home near Pilot Grove, on Sunday morning, March 12, following a lingering illness.
Mr. Case was born in Cooper county, April 10, 1880, the son of Elijah and Cora Case. He spent all of his life farming in Cooper county except for a few years spent in Pettis county and Morgan county. He was married March 17, 1903 to Miss Velma Pearl Case, of Blackwater, who died February 21, 1941. To this union were born two daughters and six sons.
On March 1, 1944, he was married to Opal May Roth, of Pilot Grove, who survives as do the following children, Ernest and Forest Case, of Independence, Virgil, of El Dorado Springs, Leo, of Fulton, Mrs. Edna Bullard, of Kansas City, Mrs. Opal Ackers, of Boonville. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Maude Wollery and Miss Mattie Case, of Blackwater, Mrs. Emma Bruce, of Sedalia, Mrs. Bessie Piatt, of Pilot Grove, Roland Case of Postal, Leslie Case of Sedalia and a number of nieces and nephews.
One son, Norman, died March 12, 1928.
