Services for Mrs. Sallie Berry, 80, of 705 Pine Tree Lane, Lufkin, were conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Tyrone Dickens and Rev. Charles McIlveene officiating and burial in Berry Cemetery.
Mrs. Berry was born Aug. 17, 1894 in Angelina County and died Monday afternoon in a local hospital following a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Angelina County and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors: two daughters, Mrs. Pauline McCollough and Beatrice Berry, both of Lufkin; son, Vernon Berry of Lufkin; sister, Mrs. Catherine Slack of Lufkin; 3 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
