*Maria Siguenza Rivera*

Mrs. Maria Siguenza Rivera was born on January 17, 1933 in Afame Sinajana, Guam. The daughter of Joaquin Taitingfong Siguenza and Ana Quitugua Borja Siguenza. She departed this life at 6:32 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. Mrs. Rivera had attained the age of 81 years, 6 months, and 29 days.

Mrs. Rivera was united in marriage to Gregorio Santos Rivera on June 2, 1951. To this union, two children were born, Craig J. Rivera and Johanna M. Duenas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gregorio Santos Rivera on July 6, 1990, her parents: Joaquin Taitingfong Siguenza (Dad) and Ana Borja Siguenza (Mother), two brothers: Jose B. Siguenza and Eugenio B. Borja, four sisters: Ana Borja Siguenza, Maria F. Toves, Concepcion Borja Siguenza, and Fina Francisco.

Maria Rivera was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church of Dixon and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 3176 of St. Robert. She worked at Fort Leonard Wood in Civil Service for many years before retiring in 1988 to stay home and take care of her husband. Maria was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed being a part of all church activities. She loved her night life of wearing her boots out on the dance floor when she Line and Square danced with her friends at the Good Time Dance Club. She was also active with her Zumba exercise class and Bowling team. Maria loved being in the kitchen cooking for her family and friends. She was known for her famous Sweet Rolls and Rum Cake which were always requested at all of the barbecue and outings she gathered at. She was always full of life and was continuously helping to serve others. Maria never met a stranger, everyone knew her as Grandma. Maria will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Rivera include: one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Becky Rivera of Dixon; one daughter and son-in-law, Johanna and Greg Duenas of Guam; four grandchildren, Michael Rivera and wife Adriana of Luke Air Force Base, Glendale, Arizona; Jennifer Duenas of Guam; Dominic Duenas and wife Sierra of Dallas, Texas; and Vincent Rivera of Dixon; seven great-grandchildren, Andre, Kailani, Kepuha, Kalia, Kaiven, Alana and Josiah; one sister, Guadalupe S. Mansapit, and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A rosary service was held for Mrs. Rivera at 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Maria Rivera at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, in the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, with Rev. Henry Ussher officiating. Donna Knapp and Nora Lujan provided the musical selections for the Mass.

Interment was in the St. Theresa Catholic/Egan Cemetery near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Maria Rivera were Michael Rivera, Vincent Rivera, Dominic Duenas, Joe Cruz, Pete Cruz, and Joseph Francisco. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Schafer and Terry Burkett.

Masses or memorials to the Egan/St. Theresa Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund are preferred by the family.
