PEORIA -- Donald D. Adams, 82, of 501 E. Lawndale died at 12:06 a.m. Sunday, June 16, 1996, at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria.

Born Nov. 25, 1913, in Green County, Ark., to Carter and Dora Orr Adams, he married Pearl H. Sammis on Jan. 24, 1923, in Sparland. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Gerald L. of Oakland, Calif.; two daughters, Donna J. Shull of Peoria and Mrs. Ronald (H. Kay) Barnes of Sisters, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. William E. (Viva) Lee of Peoria; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.

He worked for R.G. LeTourneau. He later worked for Operating Engineers Local 649 for 29 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of Illinois Masonic Lodge 263, AF&AM; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; Mohammed Temple Shrine; Moose Lodge 1541 in Farmington; and IUOE Retirees Club.

He attended Bethel Bible Church in Edwards.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
