Bill B. Allen
July 15, 1928 - May 20, 2014
Resident of Hayward
Bill B. Allen passed away peacefully from complications of heart disease. He was a tender and devoted family man, who lived simply and honestly. Born in Marshall, OK, the 9th of 11 children, Bill grew up farming the OK fields. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. He retired after 28 years from General Motors Corp, Fremont, CA as a member of UAW Local 1664. His favorite pastime was bowling with friends in the Senior League at Castro Valley Bowl. Bill moved to CA in 1954 and married Vera Grace Hopkins, who preceded him in death, as did his second wife E. Irene (Hopkins) Lemen. We will miss his caring spirit and easy smile. Bill is survived by his loving children; Joyce K. Allen Logan of Livermore, CA, Michael L. Allen and wife Margaret of Cedar Park, TX, Mark D. Allen and wife Lalaine, grand-daughters: Kasandra Vera "KC," Kayla Renee of Union, KY, and his dear sister, Eva Mae (Allen) Gooch of OK. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life followed by a Reception on Thursday, May 29 at 10am at Asbury United Methodist Church, 4347 East Avenue, Livermore. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 30, at 10am at Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward. Again, all are welcome to attend.
