(From Shamokin Times) COAL TOWNSHIP Joan T. Kozar, 72, of RD 2, died at 9:56 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Fidlers Green May 12, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (Brozoskie) Grazul.
A housewife, she was a lifelong resident of the Shamokin area and graduated from Coal Township High School in 1948. On May 26, 1951, in St. Anthony Church in Ranshaw, she married Robert D. “Ducky” Kozar, who died Oct. 23, 2003. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church, the Brady Fire Company and Brady Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the former St. Anthony Church Choir. She enjoyed bingo, playing the lottery, crossword puzzles and watching soap operas on television. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Cindy Kozar of Coal Township, and Maj. Michael P. and Marion Kozar of Monrovia Md.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Frank Mostik Jr., of Coal Township; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Robbie, Michael R. and Loren Kozar, Nicole and Frank J. Mostik III and Stephanie Lubeskie; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene, two brothers, William and Harry Grazul and a sister, Dorothy Hess.

KOZAR — Joan T. Kozar, 72, of Coal Township RD 2 (Fidler’s Green). Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Our Lady of Hope Church, First and Chestnut streets, Coal Township, with the Rev. Frank Karwacki officiating. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Hope Church or Visiting Nurses Association of Shamokin. Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, has charge of arrangements.
