James Leighton was Sarah's second husband. They married in 1866 and had Sylvia, James, and John Paul Leighton. Sarah was widowed for a second time around 1874.
Sarah married James Concannon and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they owned and operated one of the first boarding houses in the area. Sarah was widowed for a third time around 1890 and remained in Albuquerque until about 1912 when she moved to California to be closer to her children.
