CULLMAN — Harold ‘Don' Shaw

Harold "Don" Shaw, 79, passed away Monday morning, May 19, 2014, at his home in Cullman, surrounded by his family. Mr. Shaw was born in Cullman to James E. and Mamie Ellard Shaw; he grew up in Holly Pond.

Mr. Shaw was a graduate of Holly Pond High School, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and the proprietor of Eastside Shell Station for 40 years. He is of the Baptist faith, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a B.P.O. Elks Lifetime member.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eutheria P. Shaw; his parents; and brothers, Roy Shaw and Marvin Shaw.

Mr. Shaw is survived by son, Chris (Lori) Shaw; daughter, Melissa (Jeff) Stricklin; stepdaughter, Vickie (Mark) Nix; sisters, Christine (Emmit) Wise and Sue (Clyde) Morris; grandchildren, Donald Chris Shaw Jr., Stephanie (Ayrn) Campbell, Tyler Christopher Shaw, Paige Rebecca Harbison, Waid Russell Harbison, Jordon Tyler Stricklin, Lauren Requena, Hunter Requena, Zack Reese and Kyle Reese; four great-grandchildren; and many family members and friends.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Holly Pond Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, the Rev. Sam Hollis officiating, with burial in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Mr. Shaw's grandchildren will be pallbearers.
