Coretha (King) Bennett passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 64. She was born on October 30, 1949 to Charlie King and Geneva (Harmon) King in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Coretha graduated from school at Holdenville High School in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She married her husband Charles Bennett of the home on February 2, 1973 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Coretha worked as a Housekeeper for 31 years. She attended church at the Garden Oaks Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Coretha enjoyed gardening, exercising and walking. She was also an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan and especially loved watching Kevin Durant. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, and cooking for them.
Coretha is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Geneva (Harmon) King, her sisters; Laura King and Belinda Olden, and her brother; Willie King.
She is survived by her children; Charlette Bennett-Milligan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Thersa Jaggers and husband Phillip of Dale City, Oklahoma and Tiffany Bennett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her grand children; Tyran Bennett, Coreon Bennett, Tharija Bennett, Phillip Jaggers Sr. and Michael Jaggers, her sisters; Rosa Barnett, Marjorie Zolicoffer, Doretha King and Billie Louden, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Garden Oaks Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with Brother Willie Balloon officiating. Burial will be at the Buchner Cemetery north of Holdenville, Oklahoma.
