Herald of Truth, 1 April 1884:
"Livingstone - On the 14th of March, in Conemaugh, Somerset county, Pa., of lung fever, Barbara, wife of Samuel Livingstone, aged 67 years, 1 month and _ days. Buried on the 16th in the family grave-yard. Her funeral was largely attended. She leaves a husband and five children. Services by David Stufft."
Johnstown Tribune, 26 March 1884:
"Death of Mrs. Barbara Livingston
Mrs. Barbara Livingston, whose death is elsewhere announced, was born in Richland Township, Cambria County. She was the daughter of the late Daniel (sic) Wissinger, and was married twice, the first time to Mr. Isaac Shaffer, to whom she had one son, John. He lives about five miles from this city, on the Benscreek road. Forty-four years ago, Mr. Shaffer having been dead a year or more, she married Mr. Livingston. To him she had four children, three of whom are married and living in the vicinity of the old home. Her husband, who survives her, is seventy-five years of age. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, a devout Christian, and an excellent friend and neighbor."
