She was actually born in Hinckley, a couple of miles east of Caviness.
She was a victim of the explosion at the junior/senior high school in New London, TX on March 18, 1937. Ardyth was in eighth grade.

She was the only child in the family, survivors being besides her parents, two grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Davidson of Caviness."
"Funeral service for Ardyth Davidson, 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Davidson of Overton, former residents of Caviness, another victim of the New London school explosion, was postponed from Saturday afternoon, awaiting arrival of relatives from South Carolina. Emberson-Brown-Roden funeral home is in charge of arrangements. The service will be held at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at Mt. Tabor church at Caviness by the Rev. C. E. Deakin, Methodist pastor at Chicota with interment at Mt. Tabor cemetery. Her parents and two grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Davidson of Caviness survive."
